I swore I'd never do this, but I'm finding it ironic that we currently
have a thread called teaching children to behave when a lot of people
are currently behaving like them. I am officially avoiding the other
thread until further notice because I like and respect *everyone*
currently involved in it.

I understand that people may take offense at this but you are in the
naughty corner until you learn to play nice.

Has anyone ever considered a thread for arguments? any thread where an
argument develops, the arguers could be directed to a thread devoted to
letting people argue all they want about the most inane issues.

This way, people wouldn't be forced to sift through it all to find more
on-topic, casual discussions. Just an idea.

Well, yes, it's a nice thought, and it works in some places. But those
places tends to be moderated.

It's kind of interesting, in an ironic way, that a discussion about how
some topics become invasive and take over all threads became invasive
and took over all threads.

You gotta laugh, to (possibly mis-)quote Ly Tin Weedle.

Anyway, welcome to the group. We're not usually this cranky, and most
of us find enough gems to find it worthwhile to stick around. I hope
you do, too.

Welcome to the Argument Thread. Do you want to have just one
argument, or were you thinking of taking a course?

Which tragically backfired when the child-safe debate thread started

splashed into the chocolate, and got eaten by the
alligator.

It has been known to happen. You have to start with an awful lot of

There was a cloggie gathering a couple of months ago, where a uk afper
brought about 60UKP worth of green and black's chocolate bars over...
At the end of the weekend we still had a massive amount of leftover
chocolate [1], and I took about 10 bars home with me...
And when I got home I found out our host sneakily added an extra 5 bars
of chocolates into my bags.

It happened at the first meet I went to. I brought along about three
bars of Green and Blacks and a few bags of Chocolate-Covered Coffee
Beans. Not all of these got eaten, so to avoid the leftovers being
cleared away and dumped by the staff of the pub, I took the rest home.
I'm not sure what everyone else did with their leftover chocolate, if
there was any.

CCDE 2003 saw a couple of bars of leftover chocolate too, mainly
because it had melted in the sun. ISTR Liz Ashton putting it to a
memorable use, of which I'm sure there are photos somewhere!
